April 30, 2025: Response to "As of Right" Legislation Proposal

Reducing Barriers to Registration and Practise for Regulated Health Professionals Registered in other Jurisdictions

The College was pleased to provide its submissions on the Government’s new proposal of “Reducing Barriers to Registration and Practise for Regulated Health Professionals Registered in Other Jurisdictions”.  The College supports the Government’s initiative to help improve access to healthcare in Ontario.  The College has asked that the ban on registering DPM Podiatrists in Ontario be removed and that both Chiropodists and Podiatrists be included in the As of Right legislative amendments proposed.

The College has provided recommendations to implement the As of Right amendments for footcare specialists in a manner that best protects the public and reduces inter-provincial barriers to mobility for Chiropodists and Podiatrists wishing to practice in Ontario.  The College was pleased to include letters of support from its regulatory counterparts in Alberta, Manitoba and Nova Scotia.
